Dried tomatoes may protect from cancer

New findings by researchers in the University of Missouri are convinced that dried tomatoes show a potential for preventing prostate type of cancer. In most cases, dried tomato product prolonged life by eleven weeks.

“Processing for many edible plants through heating, grinding, mixing or drying dramatically increases their nutrition value, including their cancer prevention potential,” said Valeri V. Mossine, Ph.D., research assistant professor of biochemistry along at the University of Missouri.

Mossine and colleagues found that FruHis, an organic carbohydrate seen in dehydrated tomato products, comes with a strong protective effect.  In the research, a control diet as well as a tomato-based diet were occur place. Following test was completed, 3 x as much tumors were present in those not given the extract of Fruhis in their diet.
